CHEMAKRYL Concrete Impregnating Agent

Characteristics:

CHEMAKRYL 17-T is a solvent-based solution of acrylic resin, which is an acrylic copolymer in toluene. It is characterized by its resistance to light and water, as well as excellent adhesion to various materials.

Purpose:

CHEMAKRYL 17-T is designed for impregnating concrete and other porous mineral surfaces. It is used for impregnation, sealing, and hardening of both newly constructed and existing interior and exterior concrete surfaces and floors. It is also applied to impregnate old concrete substrates to strengthen them and enhance their impermeability. Suitable for application on both surface-hardened and high-quality concretes. While mainly intended for concrete impregnation, CHEMAKRYL 17-T has also been creatively used for various applications such as impregnating bricks, ceramics, wood consolidation, consolidating wall paintings, and plasters. When mixed with mineral fillers, it can be used to fill voids in wood. It is also effective for wood impregnation where maintaining the natural appearance is desired. Other applications include impregnation of paving stones, pressed concrete, or natural concrete stairs. Customers have surprised us with new applications that yield excellent protective and aesthetic results. The manufacturer recommends conducting application tests each time.

Application:

The product should be mixed before use. Surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned. Dirty areas should be cleaned with a cloth soaked in nitro solvent or sanded with fine-grit sandpaper with suggested grit above 300. Then, perform a test on a less visible surface fragment to check compatibility. Keep in mind that impregnation is irreversible, and the final effect depends on various factors such as temperature, material type, application method, and surface preparation. Clean and dry the surface intended for impregnation from dust and dirt. Application methods include brush, roller, spray method, and application with a cloth through rubbing. The minimum surface temperature for impregnation should not be lower than +5°C. Avoid applying excessive impregnating agent. Remove excess product immediately. For very absorbent surfaces, two or three layers can be applied (depending on substrate absorbency) using the "wet-on-wet" method. Protect the surface from water for at least six hours after impregnation. The surface can be put into use after 24 hours. Do not apply the impregnating agent on surfaces painted with paints, resins, or varnishes. Clean tools using standard paint and varnish thinners.

Conditions during Work:

Use the product in well-ventilated or ventilated areas. Use the product following safety principles, with particular attention to occupational health and safety and fire protection regulations listed in the safety data sheet. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while using the product. Painting work should be carried out at an ambient temperature of no less than +5°C. The optimal air temperature during painting work is +20°C.

Properties:

After the solvent evaporates, CHEMAKRYL 17-T forms a transparent, homogeneous film with good adhesion to porous surfaces. The resulting film is resistant to UV radiation and exhibits hydrophobic properties. It protects the impregnated surface from dust, water, oils, and other substances. The impregnated layer demonstrates good resistance to abrasion. It can be applied to fresh concrete surfaces in the final stage of binding or immediately after formwork removal. It also provides a gentle sheen and enhances color intensity after application.

Packaging:

Available in 200-liter metal drums and other containers as agreed upon with the recipient.

Storage:

Store in original, properly labeled containers in dry, shaded areas. The storage area should be well-ventilated and suitable for storing hazardous substances. Store the product in the temperature range of +5°C to +30°C, away from heat sources, food, animal feed, and food containers, in closed areas ensuring sufficient protection and inaccessible to unauthorized individuals. Store in tightly closed containers. Shelf life is up to 12 months from the production date.

Transport:

Transport in original tightly closed containers. The product is subject to regulations for transporting dangerous goods. It is classified as a dangerous material and subject to transport regulations according to RID/ADR (UN number 1866, proper shipping name: RESIN SOLUTION, flammable, classification code: 3/F1, packing group: II, hazard identification number: 33).

Warranty Conditions:
